How do you guys interpret that lyric meaning? I always thought it's about a beginning of some relationship, a flirt that slowly grows, a desire for response... Same as The Change: so "unusual" story from Amy and I don't know anything about its true meaning. Damn.

But a relationship thing could be what's it's about as well. I just interpreted as someone who doesn't communicate because that's what I go through with certain people in my life.

I have a complicated relationship with this song... I don't know if I like it ahaha I mean... The lyric is really strong and meaningful, It's exactly what I'm going through in my life right now, but I don't feel like it was written by Amy or the guys. And I'm not such a big fan of the instrumental part too. Maybe if it was changed to something not so "fast" or "timed", it would be more nice.

Even though the song spoke to me and I could totally relate, it just didn't like it. I and starting to appreciate it more now though. It used to be my third least favorite song of Ev's but it's slowly climbing to my "it's okay; I only like it list". XD

I just interpreted as someone who doesn't communicate because that's what I go through with certain people in my life. Sure, this is the main point. But it's not about that she is angry at him/her, she likes him/her very much and feels that glimpse of interest on the other side too. But this other person tries to hide it or doesn't understand her. And she (Amy) becomes obsessed with him/her, she loves having him/her around but at the same time it's terrible for her because it's still a game, not "real" (relationship?) yet: (this is VERY much about a desire to reveal your strong passionate feelings to another person, i think.) I had the same issue. Even though the song spoke to me and I could totally relate, it just didn't like it. I and starting to appreciate it more now though. It used to be my third least favorite song of Ev's but it's slowly climbing to my "it's okay; I only like it list". XD Haha. i remember that my least favorites were Erase This, End of The Dream and maybe Swimming Home, but all of them have wonderful lyrics so it doesn't apply anymoar! and I remember that musically I didn't understand Made of Stone and Disappear; but now i LOVE them both a lot. Aww. </ot>

Well most people here probably won't agree with what I'm gonna say, but I'm just stating my opinions.
"Say You Will" is probably my least favorite Evanescence song ever. It's almost *terrible* compared to most of the songs they've put out in the past.
And don't get me wrong - I'm a huge fan of Evanescence and have listened to them for almost 9 years. But their self-titled album is their weakest work to date overall. It does have some pretty fantastic songs, I'll give it that. (My favorite probably being "Erase This")
But something is sorely missing from this album. Actually, something has been sorely missing from the band since Ben Moody (and even David Hodges!) left. Which is a real shame. But nevertheless, they are still my favorite band and I still love them to death. I just wish the (once) three amigos - Amy, David and Ben - were still writing together. Those three were such a musical dream team - Origin in my opinion is a masterpiece and is *still* possibly my favorite Evanescence album (yeah I know it's not actually an album, but personally I pretty much consider it one) with Fallen being a close second.
It sucks those three very talented people have gone their separate ways. But I know as time goes on, things change and people change, and that's just life.
