Eh. I have really given up reading reviews from fans via Facebook and on Rolling Stone to be honest. Most are just whining and bellowing over something they have no control over. Or making absolute crazy comments...which aint nobody got time for trolls. lol. Anyways, I for one think this album is terrific. I love the songs with the lyrics the most of course...but the scores are very beautiful and fit well with a movie as it should. Amy, Dave, and everyone involved should be proud of what they put out and I am so happy for Amy to have free rein now...like she has always wanted!

I really agree, I think this album has just opened up my eyes and made me realise that I'm very much an Amy Lee fan. I love Lockdown, Push the Button and Can't Stop What's Coming, and I actually think that Lockdown may be one of my favourite ever songs. I just have to stop listening to it so much so I don't ruin it!

FINALLY, I've been able to really pour over this album. My top five (in no particular order) are definitely Lockdown, Voice in My Head, Between Worlds, Remember to Breathe, and After... It's all so beautiful <3 My review is here, if anyone's interested.

Aftermath charted at #18 on the UK Indie Albums chart. Didn't make it to the Top 40 UK Albums, but it exists on a chart! Woo

I don't get all of the hate either. No, not everyone has to like the album. That's personal opinion and taste, but the unnecessary and mean comments... people need to grow-up. What did they expect? She never said it was an Evanescence release. And to be fair, I don't really consider this Amy's first "solo" release. This is her being involved with a soundtrack. I think they were a bit deceiving in promoting it as Amy's first solo release. That said, this album reminds me more of Origin and early Ev than anything since The Open Door. Origin has electronic influences present on Aftermath. I feel like Amy is finding that creative juice she had once upon a time when she was working with Ben Moody. She's certainly capable of writing such work again. I really can't wait for a full album release from Amy. Perhaps in a year or two we'll get that.

I bought a copy of the album for my friend's birthday. I hope she likes it. She liked Push the Button. Said it sounded like Muse.

One week in, I cannot express how much more in love I've fallen with this album.

to happen now ?. after seeing the reaction of the fans to the album. I am afraid that Amy is discouraged I would hardly call those people "fans" to be honest. I'm pretty sure Amy knows where to look when she wants to know what her fans think of her work. And besides, I'm also hopeful that she sees the stuff that we write too. A lot of people hated on The Open Door cause it wasn't Fallen, and we also got a surge of new fans. A lot of people hated "Evanescence" cause it wasn't The Open Door, but there came the new fans again. A lot of people hate Aftermath cause it's not "Evanescence". and I've seen a rise in the number of members joining this forum since the release of that. It always happens. I'm sure she's used to it. Listeners come and go, but fans always stick around and support. Whatever the next album is, people will hate on it cause it's not Aftermath. Haha! SUCH IS LIFE.

She said in the interview that she doesn't care about the haters. She is happy with people who like her work and that's where she looks for strength and motivation. That's ma girl.

I like how many great people are able to write these reviews so quick; i usually need quite "a lot" of time (in comparison) to even grasp and feel the music properly, and then connect it to the right words. Good job.
