I thought we might need a thread for this since it's not a rumor anymore and since we still don't know if it's an Ev4 or Amy Lee or Halestorm song or anything else, I thought it's better to put it in "Other Works". Mods please change the name or location whenever we get more detailed info about it. Lzzy just announced through twitter that it'll probably comes out June!

Honestly, I think it's a Halestorm feat. Amy kind of thing.

Honestly, I think it's a Halestorm feat. Amy kind of thing. Which I’m still down for, since we haven’t heard them together since Break In an eternity ago.

Great that we're getting a studio version of Break In...but I was expecting something new

I like the live version more than the studio but the studio is beautiful too.
Edit: After listening to the studio a few more times, it's growing on me. There's some instrument decisions that I don't love but the vocals and harmonies are definitely enough to make me overlook some of that. I also wish the tempo was up just a tad. There are a few times that I feel like things drag on and would have been better if the whole song was just a little faster. Also, Amy's vocals on the last chorus are superb. I remember seeing this in Milwaukee on the Carnival of Madness tour and it's so nice to get a studio after all of these years.

The song was beautiful but I was really expecting Amy to have a proper solo part. I know she didn't sing solo live either, but I was thinking that when you actually record a duet, she would be leading the second verse or whatever. Basically she was now singing backing vocals only, and honestly I'm a bit disappointed that the song didn't highlight her talent more. Amy is too good to be a backing vocalist only. I was surprised that she even had less backing vocals than the acoustic live

It's actually the same version that they did on Zoom.
Does anybody feel like the instruments are louder than the vocals?

Does anybody feel like the instruments are louder than the vocals? I hear this too. The levels seem fine at the end, but the vox seems too quiet at the start, especially Lzzy. I wonder if it's because they're layering the vocals and by the end there are enough tracks that it balances out with the rest of the mix, whereas at the start when Lzzy's singing softly, she just gets drowned out. Personally I think this is more a flaw with the writing than the mix itself. One problem I've always had with this song is I feel it just lacks the dynamic it needs, so there's always too much going on when I feel like it needs to hold back and not enough when it feels like it's about to really kick in. All very subjective opinions of course, but it almost feels to me like they've come to recording it and realised it doesn't actually fit together that well, hence the issues with the levels.

It's good but honestly nothing too special from previous versions in my opinion.
