Easily the best song off the new album so far in my opinion, has overtaken The Game is Over, despite the fact that I completely agree that it was mastered terribly, the vocals are so unclear. I really hope that this is an issue of the master loosing quality due to remote working and files getting sent back and forth (unlikely I know). I just hope the official release on CD/Vinyl has a much clearer sound than what I’m hearing on iTunes.
I really hope it is an ‘issue’ rather than an intentional choice to give it a grungier/punkier sound.

Definitely my favorite, by far. I have been critical of the production and mixing on the previous songs but despite any flaws it doesn't bother me nearly as much on this one for some reason. Better Without You is catchy, the music is very layered and the overall sound has more of an epic vibe compared to the earlier singles. I'm actually very relieved by how much I love this one. Like Rark said, I've also had a hard time vibing with this era overall but this one does indeed hit the spot!

All I can say is WOW!! The mixing could be better but still this song is amazing!! This, the Game is Over and Yeah Right are absolute favorites, I'm very satisfied and almost certain I'll LOVE the whole album when it comes out, I'm so happy lol I think this song is actually about Amy's journey with Evanescence and her evolving from being controlled in the past (in the making of Fallen she had to deal with sexism and being shoved in the back and not have her contribute more in making the music, in her words "just stand there and look pretty while the big boys do most of the work" or something like that) and that she had to fight to be the person she is right now.

Mixing thoughts aside (Spotify playback section helps) ——— Obviously I was weak and gave in to listen. Tbh this is without a doubt the best single yet (I love all the songs so far though) Dark, heavy catchy. This is what I love most about Evanescence. Please can we have an apocalyptic/stormy music video?

tezbear_91 Just imagined the music video set on a platform in a stormy sea whilst listening to it and I think you're on to something!

I'm loving the song but I'm getting more and more frustrated at not being able to properly understand/hear what Amy is saying in the verses. I imagine there's nothing they can do with it by now.
Oh Nick, how could you.

Definitely my favorite single so far. A total head banger, hopefully there are some more hard hitting jams on the album. Love how it's a total fuck you to Wind-up.

All the songs so far sound so anthemic, they're going to be fire live.
Nick and Brown holding Ev down, we got rid of windup but those 2 are still there, wish they worked with different people, but probably the pandemic played a role. Anyway, really excited for this album regardless, I'm liking it so far. I have to listen to this one with proper headphones though.

Amy's comment makes me wonder if part of the song's meaning is letting us into her world of what happened during the Fallen era concerning a certain ex-guitarist. It definitely makes me think about her word choices in the bridge. "...we'd still be falling. We're fallen." I definitely see the song in a different way after hearing her comments. Still gotta take another jab at the mix, it gives me a headache, but dang this one is deep.

I thought the first verses were about Wind Up, especially with the sound of a wound up music box. I thought "we're fallen" was a mice dig at We Are The Fallen, Amy saying "well actually, WE are Fallen not you"
