I don't know if they were a opening band or something... but Panic! At the Disco kinda opened for Ev in their gig at Maquinaria Festival in 2009.

I can tell you who opened for them in France, I think that's all the show they played here: - Wallace Vanborn in Antwerp (Belgium) on 06/07/2012 - [ME] in Paris on 11/16/2011 - Mass Hysteria in Lille and Nantes on 05/30/2007 and 06/05/2007 - The Midway State in Paris on 05/26/2007. - Paramore in Paris on 05/25/2007 - Revelation Theory in Paris on 11/08/2006 - Hoobastank (and Seether) in Toulouse and Montpellier on 06/01/2004 and 06/02/2004 - Something For Kate in Lyon on 05/27/2004 - Seether in Paris (for ABH) on 05/25/2004 - Revis and Finger Eleven in Paris on 10/16/2003
Yeah, some kinda big bands opened for Ev in France. Paramore was unknown before opening for Ev and three month later they came back for a sold out show of their own. The Midway State did a cover of Peter Gabriel's "Don't Give Up" with Lady Gaga in 2009. Hoobastank was very famous at that time, and Mass Hysteria is a pretty well known band in the french metal scene.

Well, i don't think that festival bands are the same thing as opening acts, but who knows

Do local bands count?

I think that they should because they are often really "opening" for them. I count them.

Breaking Benjamin opened for them? =O Man I wish I wasn't stuck in New Zealand, that would have been the night of my life!
A New Zealand band, Decortica, opened for them in addition to Blaqk Audio at their New Zealand show this year. They have a few good songs.

Apartment 26 opened for them in Glasgow in 2003. I think they did the other UK dates too at the time.

When I saw them in 2007 they were headlining a festival and Hoobastank, Staind(Amy sang Epiphany with them), and 3 Doors Down played before them.

Everyone who doesn't know when Three Days Grace and Breaking Benjamin opened for Evanescence should look more carefully at the Behind the Scenes part of the Anywhere But Home DVD. That was the tour with Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin and Seether. You can see members from all three bands in the footage on the DVD, especially near the end where everyone is drinking champagne. And the part where Shaun and Beth are singing Bring Me to Life on karaoke? That's Ben Burnley jumping in at the end. =D

A band called Akasha opened for them in the Costa Rican show. Proyecto la Lama opened in Perú, and LOLAS opened for them in Panamá. And Garbage kind of opened for Ev in Colombia, though it was a festival and there were other artist such as The Drums and Miike Snow.
