Source: m.tmz.com/#!article/2017/10/31/evanescence-singer-amy-lee-wins-huge-settlement/ In my opinion and based on my knowledge of business law, this is what I like to call "breaking even." Yes, Amy may have been sued, but at the end she did win an amount that allows her to get the money she spent back. It may have taken some of her time and money at the time, but she got that back. Onto the next one.

It's pretty damning when a Daily Mail article is better researched, structured and written :')

It's pretty damning when a Daily Mail article is better researched, structured and written :') TMZ is hot garbage. Middle schoolers are better "journalists". Anyway, who are 110 Management? Do they handle Amy's solo stuff? Edit: Middle schoolers are better than me too.

Anyway, who are 110 Management? Do they handle Amy's solo stuff? I believe they were the management team in charge of Ev for much of its time under Wind Up. So I guess that would include Amy herself and anything under her own name? I forget the terms of the agreement, but I remember them being pretty strict. www.discogs.com/artist/4724484-110-Management-Inc (not 100% how reliable this source is) Edit: Looking at my copies of the albums it was actually Dennis Rider and Rider Management for Fallen and Andrew Lurie at 110 Management for TOD and Ev3. This makes sense actually because now I think about it there was another big lawsuit not long after Fallen was released between Amy and the band's management. I don't know who's currently in charge of Amy's solo stuff, but Ev's current manager seems pretty cool. I managed to embarrass myself in front of him at the VIP by asking his role in the band :') (yeah, only I would f*** up this badly) But he took it really well. I forget his name.

I think some fans get put off by the TMZ article because of the way it is written. It is written in a legal POV. For example, I have knowledge in business law, and this article was clear and to the point. The article basically said a lawsuit happened, Amy fought the lawsuit, won, but it all went to lawyer fees as it normally happens. TMZ is not having a slight against Amy. Harvey Levin is a lawyer and TMZ also reports on celeb legal proceedings. If anything, I am happy they even saw Amy's lawsuit as relevant enough to post about it. That says something good to me. I didn't even know about this and thought this was the lawsuit she filed against Wind-Up. Being an artist or even anyone who has a business, you are bound to be involved in a lawsuit one way or another.

@the Reaper I understood this. What rubbed me the wrong way though is that the way the article is written implies that Amy might have wanted to make money out of it, but dang! what she won was just enough to cover her lawyer expensse. See what I mean? It goes along with the "b*tch" portrait people are trying to paint of her. The truth is, I don't think Amy ever intended to make money out of the lawsuit. So I don't understand why both papers are insinuating this.

The Daily Mail loves to stir up drama, particularly if the people they're criticising aren't paying them any money (I may or may not have an anti-Murdoch bias here )

So I don't understand why both papers are insinuating this. A lot of the times, when someone is sued and the sued party ends up winning, it is not uncommon for the defendant to counter-sue for legal fees and monetary damages. A lawsuit is a very arduous process both financially and emotionally. It could very well explain all the shit that has been going down lately. If the band is independent and they are responsible for a lot of releases and their scheduling, this lawsuit can take time away from that. It's perfectly normal for someone like Amy to say "Fuck you, pay me back for all the money I paid to prove you wrong." I genuinely don't feel any of these articles were trying to paint Amy as money hungry. I would do the exact same.
