The single will be out at midnight tonight in your respective country. It's already released where I am.
Thoughts?

Can’t wait to hear it. It’s not out yet where I live, but I’ve heard the snippet and it sounds refreshingly different for Ev!

Gosh, I don't want to spoil myself just yet. Can you guys give us some more elaborated reviews of the song? Is it groovy ala TOS?

I just listened the full song... Garbage meets Marilyn Manson meets Evanescence... it's all I can say

Gosh, I don't want to spoil myself just yet. Can you guys give us some more elaborated reviews of the song? Is it groovy ala TOS? It's on a whole new level. Musically, it shifts between very poppy and this hard, groovy rock that might be on a similar plane of power to Oceans. It's definitely aggressive. Vocally, it reminds me of the degree of "experimental" that shifted between Fallen and The Open Door, but amplified. Very powerful with her signature belting. Some of the foreground melodies kind of remind me of some of the cool background melodies on TOD. Lyrically, it's extremely sarcastic and bitchy. If you amp up the level of attitude in Take Cover, Made of Stone, or New Way to Bleed by about 10x, you might come close to Yeah Right (though I guess the title alone gives a good indication of how snarky it can be) and I love every moment of it. Overall, in my opinion at least, it sounds the least like a traditional Evanescence track than any that have come before (and even less like a traditional single), so it's clearly a new direction while remaining true to the band's core sound, but the energy feels more refreshing than anything. All in all, it might be my new favorite song since Imperfection. There's a lot to unpack in the song, but it gave me goosebumps. I hope you have a similar experience.

Gosh, I don't want to spoil myself just yet. Can you guys give us some more elaborated reviews of the song? Is it groovy ala TOS? Here comes -The first verse is totally poppy and reminds me of a hit song I have heard before (like I Kissed a Girl, but don't worry, they are nothing alike) -The song turns heavy as the chorus kicks in -The chorus has some long, belted notes and is very groovy; reminds me of If You Don't Mind -The bridge has Nightwish synths (lol) -There's a short guitar solo after the bridge -At the very end of the song, there is a short, beautiful acappella from Amy In addition: -There's a lot of programming -I can hear no piano or orchestra Recommended for fans who like the poppy-heavy style of What You Want. I think this is what music from the Lillywhite sessions was supposed to sound like. If so, I really hate Wind-Up. Because this song sounds really sick. My fav heavy song from this record so far. Move over, Wasted on You.. for now I think that, so far, this and TGIO have the best flow. These two songs don't feel like they drag on, which was my complaint with WoY and UmV. It's really catchy and it keeps me wanting to keep listening, and it's the perfect length for an Evanescence (or any) song, imo. This is a little different from what I was expecting. Nice surprise! Now I can't focus on any work for the rest of the day. *-* Edit: anto Wow you nailed it man! Really good review. I completely agree.

Gosh! I actually do not mind Ev's pop influence in their songs, I might as well dare to say that I LONG for them as it adds to the groove of the song. Can't wait to hear it myself! I'm quite anxious now.
So, now just for the laughs and giggles, how many times were the words blood, lie, dark and breakthrough were used if at all on this song? : P

Now, the F-bomb made a VERY NICE comeback!!! My favorite line of the song, hands down! Life's a game til you lose, then what? I'm reaching a new level of not giving a fuck

I can't find this song anywhere, I guess I will have to wait a thousands of hours (at least it makes me feel like that)... but I am really interested in what it is going to sound like. So it's great news to have a new single!
I am still very curious about all the other songs, what their name is going to be, how they sound like and what they are about lyrically. I wish we could get a tracklist by now and then...

I wasn't expecting such song! I was expecting a generic full-on rock song. Loved it!
The first verse reminds of Muse given the dark programming and poppy melody.
Someone said they didn't hear piano on the song, but there's a bit in the end.

I definitely hear MJ vibes in the first verse. It's so different. I need to hear it through speakers. I can see the 90s influence like Soundgarden.
