One of the 4 unreleased Lillywhite songs could have been renamed for this album, only time will tell, and if not hopefully they see the light of day in some other format. Either way, really excited for this! So good to finally have a tracklist and release date. 1 of the 4?

So my hunch was right all along. This song has TOD/Ev3 vibes. It reminds me of rockiness from the song If You Don't Mind and electronic vibes from Swimming Home as well as the Baby Did a Bad Thing cover which was meant to be for the 3rd group effort. Originally I thought the song from the Lillywhite sessions was only going to be Take Cover but looks like Amy is using some of that session for this effort. Makes me wonder if they do decided to go dark and electro for Ev5, then we might see the likes of: 01. Perfect Dream 02. Your Love 03. Untitled (another piece of the puzzle song 04. You've Got A Lot to Learn (Quest Love song) - these being reserved for a solo outing or on Ev5. These don't seem to fit with The Bitter Truth theme and are more experimental and haven't been reworked from my knowledge. 05. Baby Did A Bad Thing - AL EP 06. Made of Stone - Ev3 revamp 07. Swimming Home - Ev3 08. Secret Door - Ev3 09. Hi-Lo - Synthesis revamp 10. Yeah Right - Ev4 revamp 11. Take Cover - Ev4 revamp These were from the same session but revamped. I'm curious as to what these were originally like. My Heart is Broken also changed in tempo and instruments but this was done when they wrote What You Want and The Change. According to math, this leaves us with 6 other songs from this session remaining plus the 4 unreleased/demos since there were 17 songs they worked on. One of these I'm sure what titled Understanding and I wonder if this was a revamp of their second song. However, Will stated there were 30 songs written in total for Ev3 sessions before his article was take down. I do wonder if one more song from this session has been revamped for this album. Someone should make a playlist with these songs as called it Ev3 Lillywhite Sessions. Love how these songs are evolving over time just like Together Again and If You Don't Mind did. Also I think we should start using Reddit since so many people are on there so if we can be more active on that, we could gain and increase our fanbase if people are curious enough and see popular posts. I also wonder how they sounded originally before being revamped for the final releases. And the Lillywhite sessions were not demos, they were the final thing because the album was scheduled for a September 2010 release. There's a article saying they were recording about 16 songs at the time, but Steve's tweet says 12 were nearly finished. As far as I'm concerned, the album was finished enough to play to Wind-Up and for them to reject it. Amy said she acquired the rights to what she called "unfinished recordings" and now they're seeing the light of day. Still excited for "Perfect Dream" 10 years later... haha. "Your Love" should not be counted as a Lillywhite song. Amy made it clear that it's up to L&L to release it (contractual stuff, I believe), otherwise she would have done it long ago. I actually have a playlist on Spotify titled "Ev's broken record":

Okay...so I've had some time to think about this song and what I believe it means. And based on when this song was first worked on, it really solidifies my theory. This was directed at the label and their constant desire to take away everything Amy wanted for the band because they felt threatened by her continued success after Ben and other members leaving, but especially Ben. As a woman, she's had to fight to prove herself but for a long time she mistook it with her inexperience and youth being the problem. Wind-Up, feeling threatened by Amy's success, tried to silence and control her for years and years. Everyone has a breaking point and I'm sure in her music it was where she completely snapped. She really let go in this song. Also a big thanks to Will who worked on this track with her so long ago!!! I wonder if he's heard it yet!

This and "Use My Voice" are my least favorites. Musically it reminds me of a few songs by Muse, and "Fake It" by Seether. It has that "alley cat swing beat". Lyrically, I feel like Amy's writing has been continuing a similar since their last album, and even some of "The Open Door" if you listen to the B-Sides. It's an empowering theme and it's not bad, but we already know what "Take Cover" is, right? I just hope to hear more tracks like, "Wasted On You", I want to hear the most venerable of the venerable because I think that's where Evanescence thrives. This might grow on me but it doesn't feel that original aside from that magic touch, usually those electronic beats, that Evanescence or even Amy Lee's solo music tends to have a lot of. The band did well, though. They're all incredibly talented.

Nowadays Your Love just doesn't come out because Amy doesn't want to release, Legends & Lyrics tried to release it for some reason, she can't, she hears problems for the launch of Amy's episode. Let's remember that while we may discussing reworks and the broken record, this is the Yeah Right thread, and YL and L&L are pretty much irrelevant here.

Now that makes sense. Given the time the song was written, she was about to come back to the industry with Ev's third album (then scheduled to be out in 2010 and we know how it went down later haha) after living like a normal person from 2007 to 2009.
It sounds a little shady at past members who wanted to tear the band down. Take Cover seems to talk about the same thing.
I'm so in love with Yeah Right. I feel some Billie Eilish's Bad Guy vibes on the second verse when Amy sings "yeah, I'm a rock star" etc. I wonder how the song sounded originally and how different the lyrics were then. Guess we'll never know since Ev's demos never leak, except for Fallen demos and some previews here and there (Lillywhite era twitvids). Haha

I actually asked Amy about the song and got a response! I saw that! Well done! You know, I actually googled Widow too but I don't have social media and would've never thought to ask Amy myself. So glad you did! So is she confirming that's the way she used the word? And I also don't know who she's exactly referring to in a band, was it someone specific in the old crew? With Evanescence, you can keep interpreting a song for a life-time. That's my story with Lost in Paradise from Ev3.

This one's fun! I think it's actually my second favorite from TBT so far (WOY still #1 for me).

But her answer was enough for me!

I'm really enjoying the song, particularly alongside the other songs they've released. They all sound pretty different, so I'm excited to see what the rest of the album is going to be like.
I still have a problem with the mixing/mastering. I'm hoping the entire album will be re-mastered as a whole, which might address some of the issues, but Amy's vocals in particular sound a bit too compressed. It's nice to hear a bit more variety in her voice, moving from the sassy, fun sound of the verses, to the triumphant and powerful bridge. Exactly what I enjoy in Ev's music.
