I came across this website that analyzed singers' voices and stuff and found a profile for Amy as well: www.divadevotee.com/2011/05/amy-lee-vocal-profile-range.htmlI thought I'd share this since it was quite interesting to see something like this, though it somewhat feels uncomplete for some reason. There is also a lot of interest in Amy's voice on YT. Lots of range videos, and apparently they found B2 notes and belted F#5/G5/G#5.

I always thought she was untrained till someone recently told me that she underwent vocal training for 3 years after Ev got signed. So that got me kinda curious.

Didn't she say that her only vocal training was in the choir?

Seth Riggs teaches the unconventional singing technique called speech level singing. I don't know that a few lessons qualify as "Formal training" but she definitely confirmed learning a lot from his coaching in one of those q and a interviews. I read it in one of the press room articles on the old evthreads, back when I was a consistent lurker nonmember on the thread. I tweeted the question to her to clarify. Maybe she'll respond and put this to rest.

I don't know where I read/saw that Amy was coached by Seth Riggs, but like it's been said, I don't think taking a few lessons here and there qualify as training. I think Amy gets all her technique with time and experience. She has great technique. I'm a music performance major with a specialization in vocals, if anyone has any questions.

Yes, she has. Considering the dramatic improvements since the Open Door, I'd be shocked if she hadn't.
I'm sure most professional singers get some form of coaching. Amy also had acting classes right after Wind Up picked up Evanescence to improve her stage presence.

I've seen a lot of these "vocal analyses" for many vocalists, but there's barely any for rock/metal singers. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone here was knowledgeable enough to elaborate a little on Amy's vocal techniques (breath control, agility, resonance, etc) and highlight her strengths and weaknesses as well as how well she fares in each register.
