That's a great idea. Why haven't we thought of this sooner? :/

Reading this thread reminds me of what the Lemony Snicket/Daniel Handler fans did/are doing another huge fan letter project. Basically one person gets sent all of the letters from fans that wouldn't be able to see him otherwise via email and then that person goes to a book tour meet and greet and then gives all of the letters to him. He did receive them by the way. There was a recent fan chat and he thanked us. Could we possibly do something like this for Evanescence for the fans that haven't seen them live/won't be able to? We could appoint one person who knows for sure that they will go to a concert/meet 'n' greet/whatever and then those fans can send their letters to that person via PM or email. Then that person prints them out and tries to give the letters to the band. I know Ev aren't touring right now, but just an idea for the future possible tours etc. We could call it the Evanescence Letter Project. Good idea? Bad idea? it is a good idea, since we won't know when they'll be touring again, and when they do, i don't know if they are gonna be in my area ever. yeah, give the ones who are for certain they'd be going to a concert in the future the letters of the least fortunate ones, so they can give to Amy and the band

And this reminds me of the Flyleaf fandom's way of delivering letters to Lacey (before she left the band, obviously). Everyone sent their letters to one girl, Brittany, and she compiled them into a big book to give to Lacey. I'm not certain, but I think Brittany had direct contact with the band. Anyways, the fandom sent Lacey multiple books full of letters and pictures, and she absolutely loved them. In fact, one of the Flyleaf books even makes an appearance in the music video for New Horizons. We could totally do this, couldn't we? If we could find someone who sees Amy regularly or something and we sent them a book full of our fan letters, she would actually get them and I just know she'd love the sentiment. Letters to Terry, Troy and the others could go there too and Amy could share them with the guys.

I still don't know what you mean. I don't really think we'd have to wait for anything. I highly doubt Amy would be offended if she received a book full of letters from fans. She'd probably even think it was a good idea. The only problem I really see is figuring out who would have the time to collect all of the letters (there'd have to be a deadline, and people sending letters from a far away place would probably have to send them much earlier) and compile them into a book. That person would also have to be able to get in contact with Amy, one of her friends or family members, or at least someone who can get in contact with those people. If we were to do this, we could make a list of everyone who has written/sent a letter and then compile the book after all those names have been checked off. I'd suggest a deadline for writing them, though, so that people don't start writing and sending letters while the book is being bound up. There are places on the internet that will even leather-bind a book, which would be awesome, and we could all donate some money to pay for it.

I'd like to write a letter by hand (ink) and draw some pictures there which would not be included in the printed book probably ... but yes, it's a cool idea. I think that someone did a similar thing with fan stories before - lucy_lacrymosa?

Ahhhhh, I'm forever hating myself for not giving Amy a letter when I met her at the M&G. After that, I've tried 2 times to give it to her, but failed.

I've got a really beautiful big photo of Amy in "full flow" from the first show in Birmingham in November 2011, which was taken by a professional concert photographer.
I desperately wanted to get Amy to sign it at the second visit to Birmingham a year later, but it wasn't to be.
I've emailed the official Ev address in the USA, on a couple of occassions to see if I could send my photo for Amy to sign - but they haven't bothered to reply.
I'm not going to just send this photo - as I really like it - and it was expensive - I don't want to lose it. Also - without seeing it being signed - any Tom Dick or Harry could sign it and send it back!!!

You are definitely able to recognize Amy's recent signature more than any Tom Dick out there but yes, I can understand you. All I can say is - take it to the next show with you

The print I have looks really great - the richness of the colours and the atmosphere created by the foggy lighting is just awesome on a 12 x 8 print!!!

I met Amy twice and both times didn't think to write Amy a letter to tell her how much Ev means to me and how much her music and her just being her has helped me. For the Carnival of Madness tour I figured this might be my last chance. I wrote Amy a letter. I was front row during the show and the barricade was within reach of the stage. I wondered during the show when I would be able to give Amy my letter because I didn't want to assume I would meet them afterwards (and I didn't). I was planning on tossing it on stage at some point but didn't want to risk it. At the end of My Immortal Amy came around the front of the stage to slap hands with people since she could reach us. As she approached where I was I held up my letter, and Amy grabbed it!! So at least I know she got it. I just hope she held on to it long enough to read it. You can see her get my letter at the end of this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkqGC4EKiaQMoral of the story: If you hold up a letter to Amy, she might grab it I think a book is a great idea
