I was thinking of writing the band, specifically Amy, a letter, but I was wondering, do they read the letters? I know it's been said that Twitter is the best way to contact any of them but I'd much rather write a letter. Thanks in advance everyone!

I've seen some tweets from Amy regarding letters from fans. I dont know when but once she tweeted something like "your letter was really touching thank you,@xxxxxx" stuff like that. So I guess they do read them! Or at least Amy

Amy has stated on occasion that she reads the fan letters. I have been meaning to give her one myself, but have no idea how to send it her way.

Thanks for letting me know, guys. Does anyone know what the correct address to send a letter would be? If it says it on the Ev official site and I didn't notice it, sorry haha.

I wonder how fans know where the band is going to come out after a show.

I wonder how fans know where the band is going to come out after a show. The only gate that's open, in the back of the arena, for the tour buses and equipment trucks to leave. Sadly, the only two people who came out at the Stage AE show was the drummer from Chevelle (I thought he worked at Stage AE because he asked "You guys waiting for Amy?") and the bassist (I think) from Halestorm. And the security guy lied to us AND we waited until 2AM... They were too busy playing shufffffllllleeeee board and with the praying mantis... Stupid praying mantis... getting to crawl on wills had and get "kissed" by amy... grumble grumble grumble...

Well, I wanted to write a letter for her before I went to my second Ev show in 2012, because i KNOW she read them, but in the end I didn't know what to write at all. I was completely stucked on it. It should be somehow unique and enriching for her, right? No spam or 1000x repeated words. Something amyzing for her.
But Amy herself does really read it. And she is very observant and perceptive when she's onstage. I saw her on many videos to collects things from the ground when fans throw it on stage -- and finally when I throw a flag there, when I was on my first Ev show in Berlin 2011, she immediately noticed it, went there, pick it up and read my message "We want you in Czech Republic!" written on it. Later, they really came.
So when I was near the stage after the end of my second show in Czech Republic without my letter for Amy, I helped another girl at least who cried, because she throw her letter to the stage during the encore and missed. We found some tech guy who told us that he knows them and promised that he'll pass it to Amy - and I believe he really did. You just need to be lucky.
So - there probably is the way how to do it. Although they have no real post address, there is a way to go through their live gigs. I don't know what to write her though I'd really love to, but -- let's hope there will be another show one day...

Reading this thread reminds me of what the Lemony Snicket/Daniel Handler fans did/are doing another huge fan letter project. Basically one person gets sent all of the letters from fans that wouldn't be able to see him otherwise via email and then that person goes to a book tour meet and greet and then gives all of the letters to him. He did receive them by the way. There was a recent fan chat and he thanked us. Could we possibly do something like this for Evanescence for the fans that haven't seen them live/won't be able to? We could appoint one person who knows for sure that they will go to a concert/meet 'n' greet/whatever and then those fans can send their letters to that person via PM or email. Then that person prints them out and tries to give the letters to the band. I know Ev aren't touring right now, but just an idea for the future possible tours etc. We could call it the Evanescence Letter Project. Good idea? Bad idea?
